Tulip

I am pondering a getting a new table.  Currently in my kitchen I have a long rectangle table. ( first image my table) I have always wanted the Knoll Tulip table and have found a knock off on EBay. (2nd image Tulip table) My dilemma... The rectangle takes up so much space in our small kitchen but can seat 8 if needed.  The Tulip table can seat 7.  What is your opinion?  Do I throw out functional and one more seat?
